The auditorium in the original Ibda'a building can seat
up to 100 people and provides Dheisheh refugee camp with a venue equipped with
a stage plus lighting and sound systems. This enables the community to hold
many events and it was the first hall with such facilities in Dheisheh camp.
The venue is regularly used by Ibdaa to host internal
events as well as conferences, festivals and cultural and social activities
involving external organizations and the local community. The Dance troupe also
uses the hall for rehearsals and performances.
A mural in the auditorium portrays three martyrs
from Dheisheh who represent differing aspects of the conflict, while the
ceiling honors all refugee camps in Palestine and abroad. The refugees’ right to return as stated in UN
Resolution 194 is also shown on one of the walls.
