Ibda’a Mourns the Loss of Young Volunteer

Ibda’a volunteer, Jihad Ramadan, died suddenly from a heart attack on Monday, July 15th, 2019.

Bethlehem, Palestine – Well-known volunteer and ambassador for international delegations, Jihad Ramadan, died suddenly last night while attending a celebration.

Ramadan, 35, was one of three main tour guides and lecturers for the countless international delegations that Ibda’a receives weekly. He devoted his time to helping educate internationals on the realities of life for Palestinian Refugees. The grief of this tragic loss will be felt the world around.

As such, Ibda’a will suspend activities on July 16th in order to support the family and community through this difficult time.

Ibda'a Cultural Center (Ibda'a) is a grassroots, community-based organization located in the Dheisheh refugee camp within occupied Palestinian Territory. Since its foundation in 1994, Ibda'a serves more than 2000 children, youth and women annually. Ibda'a’s mission is to create a positive atmosphere for children, youth and women in the refugee camp in order to assist them in developing creativity and leadership skills through a range of social, cultural and educational activities.
